Google Preview
This is what is likely to appear on the search results page. The top part, in blue, is the page title. The second part, known as the snippet, is the page description.
Understanding the Page Title
The title is very important for Google to understand your page; it tells the search engine what the page is about so must be a good reflection of the page content. Maximum characters – letters and spaces – is 70. Make the most of it as it is also the first part of the search results that the web search user sees.
Keywords
Ignore that box – neither Google nor Bing pay any attention to it.
Page Description
Very important to drive visitors to your website. Maximum total of characters and spaces, 160. Use it to expand on your Page Title and make sure it is an accurate description of your page. If Google thinks it doesn’t reflect the content it will probably choose a chunk of text from the content of your page instead as the snippet.
